Buying on Alibaba For Resale Is Great, But…..

You have to be sure of the availability of products.

When you communicate with your vendors, never make the mistake of assuming anything concerning the availability of products.

There have been multiple times in which vendors have tried to sell me items that were not present on their professional websites. Moreover, I’ve additionally asked for samples of items that were visible on their web pages only to find that the vendor no longer offered them.

In many cases, you’ll find that vendor sites are not always updated and that some vendors are more diligent about keeping their online offers current. There was even a time where I was informed by the vendor that six out of the nine samples I had already requested and paid for had been discontinued.

The lesson: Never assume that something is available. Take the time to ask questions and confirm product availability before finalizing your order and remitting any money.

What To Think About With Online Selling In 2017

You might be thinking about what direction to take with your internet online business in 2017.   Maybe you are thinking about just getting started and where to focus your efforts.

I just did a Google search for online retailers results for 2016.  Guess what?  That’s right; Amazon came in number 1, followed by Wal-Mart stores.  I think eBay came in number 32.  That should get you thinking about what direction to take.  Go where the action is.  Go where you can get the best results.

Get started selling on Amazon.  You can still get some results with Ebay, but many items will sell quicker on Amazon resulting in greater sales for your bottom line.  Extra cash for you and your family.  Here is where you can find products to sell:  WHOLESALE PRODUCTS

Definitely something to consider.  The key is to FOCUS.  Don’t be all over the place with your internet business.  If you are spread too thin, you will get thin results.

QUICK TRICK To Increase Your eBay Sales

If you have been selling on eBay for a while, or even as long as I have (15 years) or longer, you probably noticed some peculiar fluctuations in your sales.  You might be asking yourself why all of the sudden my eBay sales dropped so low.  Well I keep my ears to the ground and listen to what is going on.  This following trick has indeed increased my eBay selling:

It is actually very effective.  If you have been selling for a while, you might be somewhat resistant to change.  Just try it.  You may have, as I do, (Jim’s eBay Store) many items that were listed and they are repeat items.  Well eBay’s search engine, Cassini and also Google will look at your eBay site and see nothing going on.  What do you think they are going to do?  If you think that they will put your listings near the bottom of the pack, you are probably right.  I think they actually put listings in the “sandbox.”  That is an internet marketing term for putting your website out of sight.

Here’s what you do.  First look at your headline.  Make a change in it.  Suggestions include putting the most compelling words in the beginning.  Just look at it and you might see where a change could be made.  Then look at the body copy.  Do you see anything weird or wrong or something that could be changed or enhanced?  Just do it.  Maybe add a picture.  Then update your listing.  Don’t be surprised if something sells not long after that.  It may not even be what you adjusted.  Google looks at your whole eBay site and sees that activity is taking place.  That is what it likes.

If you have a lot of listings, you don’t have to do them all at once.  What I do is first go to my active listings.  I will look at the first page, and adjust every fifth listing.  I do this everyday and have had results.  It’s also good to keep listing new items.  That always helps.  It increases your eBay site’s activity and Cassini and Google like it.

IS EBAY MAKING A COMEBACK?

You may have sold or bought things on eBay in the past.  I have sold items on eBay for over 15 years.  Jim’s Ebay Site.  I have seen so many changes in the past, especially under the old CEO John Donahue.

I think many of these changes were negative.  This resulted in many sellers getting thrown off the website and turning off many buyers as well.  I think it probably resulted in eBay losing a market share.

Now they have a new CEO Devin Wenig.  He seems to really get it.  Although there were good changes recently going on even before Devin,  there is definitely a very positive feeling in the air with eBay and their sellers.  It seems like it has become a more friendly and exciting place to sell your items.  There are lots of competition these days on the web of course.  You have Amazon, Etsy, Bonanza, and others.  Devin thinks he can bring the company forward with higher profits and eventually a good brand to really promote.  I believe him.  You can’t help but to like him because he says things us sellers have been saying for years.
